Between self-determination, expectations and social norms: photography and media art from 1945 to the present day

What do bodies tell us about ourselves and the society we live in? The exhibition EveryBody! explores these questions.

Every day, our bodies communicate – not only with words, but also through gestures, facial expressions and other forms of physical expression. Consciously and unconsciously, they convey countless messages that are embedded in social and political contexts: they show what we want to express and enable free, individual self-expression. At the same time, our bodies are perceived and evaluated by others.

The exhibition brings together artists who critically engage with the social norms and ideals of our society. The artists show in their own way how they want to give voice to the desire for freedom and self-determination over their own bodies.

EveryBody! invites us to sharpen our view of the body and the role of society in this exchange.
