Gaisberg Race 2026
The 22nd ‘Gaisberg Race for Historic Cars’ in and around Salzburg.
The Salzburg “Gaisberg Race for Historic Cars” has now become something of an institution, and this year marks its 22nd edition. Organised by the ACC (Austrian Classic Circle), the Gaisberg Race actually comprises several races spread over three days, during which classic car enthusiasts compete on various routes in Salzburg in timed trials and regularity runs.
The large car show on the Thursday before the races has now become a tradition. Here, classic car enthusiasts can marvel at the often unique automobiles on Salzburg’s Residenzplatz, right in the heart of the city – a rolling outdoor museum.

Following the car show, the “Salzburg City Grand Prix” gets underway in Salzburg’s old town. The first special stages in the regularity format are scheduled for Friday. On the eponymous Gaisberg, two special stages will take place in the morning and two in the afternoon, covering a total distance of 120 kilometres. On Saturday, we head down from the Gaisberg and on to the Salzburgring. Here, the drivers’ concentration is once again put to the test in the regularity mode. The grand finale of the “Gaisberg Race for Historic Cars” is the prize-giving ceremony and the closing evening at Hangar-7 in Salzburg Wals.
Historic cars are also quite popular among queer people. Take the Motorboys, for example.
