„Moon, Sun, Mercury“

‘Moon, Sun, Mercury’ – exhibition by Polish artist Mikołaj Sobczak
Mikołaj Sobczak (born 1989) is a Polish artist. His works combine painting, video and performance art. In addition to depicting alternative visions of history, Sobczak’s work connects everyday life with surreal, collaged visual narratives in which he incorporates figures from countercultural emancipation movements and LGBTQIA+ activism. (from Wikipedia)
Mikołaj Sobczak’s exhibition ‘Moon, Sun, Mercury’ at the Salzburger Kunstverein brings together a fragmented history of resistance, propaganda and survival. In three large-format paintings and subtle footnotes, Sobczak draws on communist posters, esoteric traditions, queer archives and contemporary analyses of techno-feudalism to create an image of power and its decay.
‘Moon, Sun, Mercury’ is an act of counter-historiography—and, more urgently, an exercise in anti-fascist aesthetics for a present in which the struggle for images, narratives, and bodies is far from over. (from the description by the Salzburger Kunstverein)
