The world’s most important Mozart festival, the Salzburg Mozart Week 2026

It’s going to be magical: in 2026, the great Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will celebrate his 270th birthday. The world’s most important Mozart festival, the Salzburg Mozart Week, will celebrate this with a new production of the most popular opera of all time: Mozart’s ‘The Magic Flute’. Mozart Week director Rolando Villazón will stage the production, and Roberto González-Monjas will conduct the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg. A lively ensemble of singers, including some of the leading interpreters of the Magic Flute of our time, will take to the stage: Soprano Kathryn Lewek is a world-renowned Queen of the Night, Franz-Josef Selig is a legendary Sarastro, and they are joined by Emily Pogo-relc as Pamina, Magnus Dietrich as Tamino and Theodore Platt as Papageno, among others.

Top-class orchestras and soloists are expected at Mozart Week: The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra with María Dueñas, Magdalena Kožená and Igor Levit, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe with Renaud Capuçon, the Danish Chamber Orchestra with Emily D’Angelo, Jordi Savall with Le Concert des Nations, as well as Emmanuel Pahud, Xavier de Maistre, Avi Avital and Philippe Jaroussky.

2026 will not only mark the 270th birthday of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, but also the 70th anniversary of Mozart Week in Salzburg. The programme, tickets and further information can be found here.
