Tandem – in which language do you dream? is a coming-of-age story in the here and now.

‘Ever since cinema discovered the narrative potential in the trials and tribulations of adolescents, we have seen time and again how teens rebel against (perceived) authority figures. Mom and Dad, teachers, public servants. They all have no understanding at all; they were obviously never young or have simply repressed and forgotten it. Because they have jobs, a house with a hot tub, a façade that they have to maintain – there is no room left for rebellion…‘ writes Andreas Köhnemann on kino-zeit.de and comes to the conclusion ’The coming-of-age process is timeless, but every era deserves its own individual portrayal.’ In ‘Tandem – in welcher Sprache träumst Du?’ (Tandem – What Language Do You Dream In?), the portrayal of two 17-year-olds, one from Germany and the other from France, who meet during a student exchange.

The film is shown as part of the queer film evening, a cooperation between DAS Kino and HOSI Salzburg.
