Queer Witch

A spectacular show featuring aerial acrobatics, object manipulation and magic: Queer Witch
Witches have always been labelled as ‘the other’ – as deviant, out of place, difficult to categorise. That is precisely what makes them queer. With ‘Queer Witch’, the acrobatic duo Skandl will be staging a Pride Festival premiere at the GlanGärten theatre tent on 1 September. The show combines aerial acrobatics, object manipulation and magic into a thrilling spectacle.
The piece is a declaration of love for the offbeat: witches’ brooms are balanced and ridden, books reveal their secrets, and a magic ball holds a great prophecy in store. Oscillating between gender-bending euphoria and moments of reflection, “Queer Witch” invites the audience not just to watch, but to actively participate.
A performance that is at once particularly humorous, colourful and thought-provoking. A premiere for Salzburg and the Pride Festival. (sb)

You can reach the theatre tent in around 12 minutes by taking bus line 27 from Ferdinand-Hanusch-Platz.
