The musical ‘Skiverliebt’ is a tribute to one of Austria’s greatest passions – skiing.

With charm and skis, the new musical tells of one of Austria’s greatest passions – skiing. The 2025 World Ski Championships in the Salzburg region, the Austrian gene for hospitality, and the pressure to perform in professional skiing are the ingredients for the musical ‘Skiverliebt’ (Ski in Love).

The story centres around local ski racer Anna. She jets around the world and outdoes herself every day: Anna is a star on skis. But the announcement that the World Ski Championships will take place in her hometown plunges her into an emotional turmoil. Her ski instructor friend Franz, the (in)frostbitten journalist Hannah from Hamburg, the World Cup organiser Joe, the Brazilian ski champion Camilla and the melancholy snow groomer driver Leopold also contribute to her emotional turmoil. The tourist guests are always there, because on Saturdays there is a ‘change of beds’. Fortunately, Jessica’s hotel has the best Kaiserschmarrn in the world to comfort everyone…

The score is by Martin Lingnau, written for a full orchestra, and brings together Austrian pop songs, waltz bliss, après-ski hits and other rousing melodies.
