Hellbrunn Palace
Hellbrunn Palace is one of the top attractions in Salzburg. The extensive complex on the southern outskirts of the city was built between 1612 and 1615 under Archbishop Markus Sittikus and is still considered one of the most magnificent Renaissance buildings north of the Alps.
At the trick fountains, you can experience what delighted the archbishops almost 400 years ago: mysterious, mystical grottos, water-powered figures and treacherous fountains at every turn – unique in the world in terms of form and diversity.
On a sunny Sunday afternoon in August, gaysalzburg.at was out and about in the extensive grounds of Hellbrunn with Christoph and Andreas from Vienna and Selina and Lisa from Salzburg. It was an afternoon that was simply great fun! The idea of what things might have been like at Hellbrunn 400 years ago really fires the imagination. And leaves you with the feeling of having experienced a real day's holiday.
