Salzburg Queer Update
02.02.2026 This Friday evening, there are two relaxing events in Salzburg. It’s a silver lining for anyone who’s had a stressful week. The Puppy Stammtisch is back. Every first Friday of the month, puppies and friends of the community meet at our favourite cruising bar, Dark Eagle. Puppies? Wikipedia says: ‘Pupplay, also known as puppy play or human pupplay, refers to an erotic role-play in which dog-like behaviour is imitated. It is a subcategory of pet play and originally comes from the BDSM scene.’

So, whether you’re wearing a mask, a matching outfit or even normal clothes, the Salzburg Puppy Regulars’ Table is now open on the first Friday of every month – at the Dark Eagle bar and in the cellar.
Not far from Dark Eagle, in the HOSI clubhouse, the association’s now well-established Ladies Night takes place. Since 2015, HOSI has been hosting regular meetings that welcome women of all sexual orientations as well as trans*, inter* and non-binary people.

For anyone who wants to unwind and relax with drinks and music on a cosy evening. Whether you’re a regular or a new face, the ladies welcome everyone.
Friday is fun day. The Puppy Stammtisch at Dark Eagle and HOSI’s Ladies Night, which take place every first Friday of the month, are a great opportunity to go out, meet new people and start the month off on the right foot. (sb)
22 January 2026 Educational and discussion events are extremely important. We are looking forward to two exciting educational events in the city of Salzburg and the surrounding area.
The Salzburg State Theatre invites you to the ‘Stage of Diversity’ on Thursday, 2901. at the Kammerspiele. The musical ‘Priscilla’ will be used as an opportunity to put drag art at the centre of the discussion event. Drag artists will talk to a musical performer and other experts about the influence of drag in entertainment and beyond.

On Friday, 2702., the Heublumen association is heading to Bischofshofen in Pongau. There, the association is hosting the first Regenbogen Ratscher of the year. This is a discussion event that combines queer issues with the realities of rural life. ‘How do I come out to my family?’ ‘How do I connect with the queer community in the countryside?’ These and other questions will be discussed in an interactive exchange. Open and without prejudice. More information is available in our event calendar.

Priscilla – Queen of the Desert
The film and musical ‘Priscilla – Queen of the Desert’ tell the story of two drag queens, Mitzi and Felicia, and a trans woman, Bernadette, who travel through the Australian outback in an ageing bus called ‘Priscilla’ to put on a show in Alice Springs. The musical will premiere at the Salzburg State Theatre on 6 December 2025, directed by Ramesh Nair. [Read more]
