Something’s happening next week

On Saturday (13 December), Salzburg’s queer scene has two very special events in store for us. Gigi La Pajette’s premiere of her drag Christmas revue and the 10th birthday of Dark Eagle, Salzburg’s only bar with a darkroom.

Gigi’s premiere of her Christmas drag revue ‘Silent Night, Shrill Night’ will take place on 13 December. And which stage are we talking about? The Off Theatre in Salzburg, where Gigi is already well known for her role in the play ‘Taxi, Taxi’. On 13 December, the doors will open here at 6 p.m. for a champagne reception, and the show will start at 7:30 p.m.

Winter magic in high heels and make-up

Together with their drag colleagues, they bring winter magic in high heels and make-up. With charming humour, the queens poke fun at Christmas clichés, making the audience laugh and ensuring a flamboyant and festive evening. If you still need tickets for the revue, you can get them here.

After the revue, it’s straight on to the Dark Eagle. Salzburg’s cult cruising bar at Paracelsusstraße 11 is celebrating its milestone birthday and turning 10 years old. The bar has survived a lot since it opened in 2015, not least a global pandemic. But people, whether locals or tourists, still enjoy finding their way to the bar in Salzburg’s Andräviertel district.

‘The guests keep me young’

Owner Wolfgang and his bartenders always have an open ear and a cheeky remark at the ready. ‘The guests keep me young,’ says Wolfgang. Then as now, guests at the Dark Eagle can expect a lounge-like bar atmosphere on the ground floor and a thrilling darkroom experience downstairs. The bar has also extended its opening hours. From Wednesday to Saturday, you can now enjoy your after-work drink at the Dark Eagle from 5 pm onwards.

Next week, there’s something happening. 13 December brings us an early Christmas present in the form of Gigi’s Drag Revue and the 10 Years of Dark Eagle party, which we’re already looking forward to.
