Stadtfest Salzburg 2026
Under the title “We Build Bridges”, the Salzburg City Festival 2026 will once again showcase the city’s diverse character over the weekend of 26–28 June.
Following its debut last year, the major Salzburg City Festival is back for its second edition. Under the same title, “We Build Bridges”, the city on the River Salzach will showcase its most diverse side over the weekend of 26–28 June. Live music, creative workshops, street food on the Staatsbrücke, participatory sports events and a packed cultural programme are all on the agenda for the three days.

The Staatsbrücke in the heart of Salzburg is once again being transformed into a festival zone. Normal traffic will be closed off over the weekend. Instead of buses and cars, people will gather on the bridge to chat, eat and celebrate. But once again, the city festival extends far beyond the Staatsbrücke. The entire Old Town, from Franz-Josef-Kai to Kajetanerplatz, from Kapitelplatz to the end of Linzer Gasse, is part of the varied programme, which comprises a total of 122 events.

The programme will once again include, for example, the open-air cinema on Saturday evening at Kapitelplatz, followed by the fire and water show on the Salzach between the Staatsbrücke and the Marko-Feingold-Steg.

“The City Festival showcases what makes Salzburg special: a city that stands together, is open-minded and brings people together. We’re not just putting up stages here. We’re building bridges between generations, ways of life and ideas,” said Salzburg’s Mayor Bernhard Auinger. (sb, photos: wildbild.at)
