Salzburg Theatre
The Schauspielhaus Salzburg is a self-governing and politically independent theatre. Its core competence is drama. The basis of its artistic work is a continuously active and developing ensemble. This also includes the training of young actors and actresses, which is directly linked to the theatre.
‘The Schauspielhaus Salzburg sees itself as part of a vibrant cultural landscape, as a place at the heart of society, as a forum for artists and audiences to engage with the fundamental questions of human existence. For us, theatre-making is an act of resistance against the loss of education, the de-democratisation of society and the increasing commercialisation of the world.
As an art institution, we take responsibility for the future. Both the high-quality, practice-oriented training of young artists and the cultural and social education of our young audience are central concerns for us.’
